Enjoy The Beauty of The Season

Hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and are continuing to enjoy the festivities. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year too.
Today I am using the Christmas Chalk and MidWinter stamp sets from Artistic Outpost to continue with my rustic Christmas designs. I have stamped the Let It Snow randomly onto the background of my card using Potting Soil Archival Ink along with the foliage stamp from the MidWinter stamp set around the edges of the background for a further layer of interest.
I have also added stencilled stars to the background using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and I have added delicate splatters of Picket Fence Distress Paint to the backdrop.
I die cut two baubles from white card and then added a good thick coat of Wendy Vecchi's Crackle Texture Paste and then set aside to dry. Once completely dry I painted the baubles with Walnut Stain Distress Paint adding a couple of coats and drying with my heat tool. I then spritzed each of the baubles with Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain.
To add a further touch of shimmer I rubbed over each of the baubles with touches of White Fire Treasure Gold Wax. I have also included two enameled tags, decorated with remnant rubs, attached with jump rings from my rustic bows. The fabulous "Enjoy the beauty of the season" sentiment is from the MidWinter stamp set.
To comnplete I added 25 using Stencil Marks to the top of my card, it adds another touch of interest to my design.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you continue to enjoy the festive period.  Tracy x x

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Today I have opted for greens and browns for my colour scheme using the fabulous Geometric Ornament from Katzelkraft.
To begin I added stencilled stars to my background using Peeled Paint Distress Ink and Tim Holtz Star Layering Stencil. I then stamped the Geometric Ornament onto the background twice using Fern Green and Potting Soil Archival Inks. I love how the stencilled stars are still visible behind the bauble in the background.
I then die cut a medium and small star from white card, inked the Geometric Ornament with Potting Soil Archival Ink and then pressed each of the stars onto the ornament. I have then added the stars to the top of each bauble for added interest and dimension. I have also added mini tags, stamped with winter and 25 along with coordinated twine.
I die cut some Christmas greens from white card using Tim Holtz die, coloured with Peeled Paint and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks and added to the top of the card along with vintage seam binding died with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. I also included three stacked stars to the top of my card for added interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you all have a fabulous Christmas Day and Very Best Wishes for The New Year.

A Rustic Christmas

Morning and welcome to my blog, hope you enjoy your visit and a huge warm festive welcome to my regular followers.
Today's card measures 5" x 7" and the background of my card has been coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink with delicate touches of stencilled stars using the same Distress Ink to give a tone and tone effect. The focal point of the image is a die cut bauble which I have then stamped with the reindeer from the MidWinter stamp set from Artistic Outpost.
The background of the central panel has been decorated using Tim Holz Christmas Layering stencil applying embossing paste over the stencil which has been coloured with a touch of Potting Soil reinker to coordinate with my design.
Tucked behind the bauble is a die cut snowflake, die cut from white card using Tim Holtz die, colouring with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and then spritzing with Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist and adding a metallic touch with White Fire Treasure Gold Wax. I also included a Merry Christmas sentiment to the top of the bauble.
I have also added touches of the White Fire Wax to the background of the card to add a touch of sparkle.

Frosty Christmas for Katzelkraft

Morning everyone and welcome. Today I have my weekly post for Katzelkraft using the fabulous Geometric Ornament.
I have opted for some frosty blues and whites today beginning with the background I applied Broken China Distress Ink over the Stars Layering stencil and added shading to the edges. I then added a second layer with subtle background stamping using Tim Holtz text background stamp from the Classics 9 stamp set.
I then took a further piece of white card, mixed Salty Ocean reinker to Wendy Vecchi's Crackled Texture Paste and applied over the Stars Layering Stencil, I love the texture this gives to the background. Shading has also been added to the edges of the card with Broken China Distress Ink.
I inked the Geometric Ornament with Forget-Me-Not and touches of Potting Soil Archival Inks and stamped onto white card, I repeated this for a second stamping and then cut both baubles out and added to the background of the card. Natural twine has been added to the top of each bauble along with pewter charms coloured with Alcohol Inks.
I applied Broken China ink over the CHRISTMAS wording on the Christmas Layering stencil, cut out the wording and then added to the bottom of the card.
I love the subtle crackle on the background stars, this adds a wonderful tactile feel to the card.

Merry Christmas

Morning everyone, thanks so much for visiting my blog. Hope you are enjoying the festive month of December. Today I have another one of my rustic festive makes using the MidWinter stamp set from Artistic Outpost.
The background piece to my card measures 6" x 6", I die cut a bauble from white card and used the aperture as a stencil; sponging Gathered Twigs Distress Ink lightly over the stencil to add two babules to the background of my card. I then flicked the background of the baubles with water to add a touch more interest to the background.
Keeping the stencil in place I then stamped the reindeer onto each of the baubles, stamped with Potting Soil Archival Ink. I also added stencilled stars to the background of each of the baubles. I then took Tim Holtz Christmas Layering Stencil and applied embossing paste over the CHRISTMAS and WISH wording. I coloured the embossing paste with a touch of Potting Soil reinker to cordinate with my colour scheme.
I also carried the stencilled stars onto the background of the white card and added shading to the edges of my card with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. To complete I added a Merry Christmas sentiment.

Christmas Canister Bird House

Morning all, hope you are all enjoying the festive month of December. I took some time out to use one of my newly acquired dies from Eileen Hull, the Canister Die.
I am also joining in with the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge which this time around is Woodlands and Tinsel Twine and all the techniques are available in Tim Holtz book. There is also a fabulous prize on offer of $50 from Inspiration Emporium and their are fabulous projects to inspire you from the Curiosity Crew.
I die cut Eileen Hull's Canister from mountboard and used Tim Holtz Sized Circles to cut an aperture in the centre. I then used Wendy Vecchi's brick wall stencil and applied Crackled Texture Paste over the stencil and then set aside to dry. Once completely dry I sprayed the canister with Vintage Photo Distress Spray Stain along with light touches of the Tarnished Brass Spray Stain.
This picture gives a little more details of the fabulous crackle. I love texture in my pieces. I placed the birdhouse onto a base covered with Snow-Tex adding tinsel twine around the outside edges.
I die cut four mini reindeers from mountboard and adhered them together and then spritzed with the Spray Stain, adding touches of Snow-Tex to the top of his body and head and also adding tinsel twine around his neck. I also included a mini sledge. I love the small touches of red in my design.
I added a metal trim around my birdhouse given to me by my blogging friend Suzz, I knew I would find a use for it one day! I also added 5 woodland trees to my design along with faux Christmas lights around the edge of the birdhouse.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend. Tracy x x x

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Hope you are all enjoying the build up to the festivities. I am definitely enjoying December this year. Today I have a Christmas card for you using the Geometric Ornament from Katzelkraft.
I began by adding stencilling to a piece of white card using Tim Holtz Christmas Layering Stencil and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, applying the same ink to the edges for definition. I then added a second layer to my card stencilled with the Holiday Knit stencil and Fired Brick Distress Ink.
I then inked the Geometric Ornament with Vermillion and touches of Potting Soil Archival Ink and stamped onto the bottom corner of the card. I love how the stencilled lettering is still visible behind the ornament.
I die cut a star from white card, coloured with Fired Brick Distress Ink, added a Chitchat sticker to the top and added to the top corner of my card. I also die cut a mini tag from white card, stamped Winter and 25 onto the tag and fastened to my twine bow and included a Christmas button to the centre for added interest. I then added the design to a white card adding stencilled stars to the background.

Traditional Christmas

Wow I can't believe we are on the second week of December. I am really enjoying this month as I adore the build up to Christmas Eve. Today I would like to share a further Christmas card with you using the MidWinter stamp set from Artistic Outpost.
I love using the colour red in my Christmas cards, it adds a real traditional feel to the design. The background has been stamped with Vermillion Archival Ink using Tim Holtz Wallpaper background stamp.
I die cut a bauble from white card using a Spellbinders die, kept the die in place and then stamped the reindeer into place using Potting Soil and Vermillion Archival Inks. I also added a touch of shading to the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. For added interest I also included some delicate stencilled stars to the background of the bauble. I also included Christmas tickets from Tim Holtz Odds and Ends stamp set, again stamping with Vermillion Archival Ink.
I added vintage seam binding along with coordinated twine and added an enameled tag with a Christmas remnant rub added. Festive Foliage, coloured with Gold Alcohol Mixative adds a touch more interest to the bow detail.

Rustic ATB for Katzelkraft

It's time for a new challenge with Katzelkraft and this time around the theme is CHRISTMAS.
I decided to create an ATB using Eileen Hull's fabulous Block/Cube die which I have decorated using Katzelkraft's Geometric Ornament stamp.
The ATB itself is cut from mountboard and I have then added kraft card to each side. Two of the sides I have stamped with the Geometric Ornament using Potting Soil Archival Ink and then added white highlights with a white pen. I have also added stencilled stars in the background using Adirondack Snowcap Ink.
The top has been decorated with Tim Holtz Prancing Deer die, adding several layers together so that the deer stands proudly on the top. I have coloured the deer with Distress Inks and added background stamping to its body using the Geometric Bauble stamp and Snowcap Ink. For definition I have also added touches of Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges.
I love how the touches of white make the bauble pop against the kraft backdrop. I have also included Chitchat stickers and die cut a mini tab to add to the top edge stamped with 25 and Winter text.
On the opposite sides I have white embossed the Geometric Bauble and added highlights with a brown pitt pen. I have added stencilled stars to the background using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I die cut a mini tag, added shading to the tag with Distress Ink and added a Chitchat sticker to the top for added interest along with natural twine.
I have added Snow-Tex to the top of the box embedding mini pine cones into the snow along with a min tab. I have also included some stencilled stars to the background.

Holiday Traditions with the Eileen Hull Art With Heart Challenge.

Time for December's Art With Heart Challenge and this time around it is all about HOLIDAY TRADITIONS.
Counting down to the big day is always a tradition in our house, whether it be an advent candle, chocolate advent or even an advent tree. So this time around I thought I would make my own countdown to christmas using Eileen Hull's Box, Candy Drawer Die. I added chocolates to each drawer, one for each day for the countdown. What can I say we all love chocolates in my house!!
The drawers were coloured with Fired Brick Distress Stain and sanded around the edges to add a distressed feel and I covered the sides, top and bottom with mountboard for stability covered with Tim Holtz Merriment paper. I also added a panel to the back of my drawers die cut with Tim Holtz Star Cluster die. I added Hitch Fasteners for the handles.
I added Tim Holtz Prancing Deer to the top, cut from mountboard and adding four die cut layers stuck together so that the deer would stand. I coloured the deer with Distress Stain, adding touches of Gathered Twigs around the edges and a touch of stencilling using the Star Layering Stencil.
Mini Christmas trees and wreath have been added to the top along with wooden baubles.
Each of the drawers has chocolates added, enough for all the family to countdown to Christmas.
To complete I added wooden numbers painted with Distress Stain adding touches of Treasure Gold wax around the edges. I will use these little drawers from year to year and I will add a little gift to the last drawer for Christmas Eve.

BELIEVE

Today I am showcasing the fabulous MidWinter stamp set from Artistic Outpost.
This year I have really enjoyed creating rustic Christmas cards and continue today with the same theme. The background has been created by die cutting Tim Holtz Snowflake from white card and using the aperture as a stencil. I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink over the stencil and then added touches of Picket Fence Distress Paint to the stencilled snowflakes to add to the snowy feel.
I stamped the reindeer with Potting Soil Archival Ink, masking off the first image before stamping the next two. I also added more stencilled snowflakes and touches of background stamping. I also included a let it snow Word Band for added interest, applying Picket Fence Distress Paint to the band along with rustic twine. I also included a mini tag attached with a jump ring and coloured with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink along with a Chitchat sticker for added interest.
Snowflakes die cut from white card have also been added, applying touches of Distress Ink to the edges of the snowflakes to add to the rustic charm. I have also added random stamping to the larger of the snowflakes.
Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you are enjoying the start of the festive season.
